ok, now that I have two cameras,
1) it takes me longer to put the pictures up online.
2) I take a million pictures.
I decided that I'm going to get a sigma 24mm or 28mm f-1.8 so that I will be able to take amazing shots without the flash on.
rune: a lot groovier than I remember. I thought they were just a noise-rock band, but they had a lot of stoney groove parts.
beyond the embrace: can I said anything but brilliant? These guys get better and better each time I see them. I've often heard "I'd rather just listen to in flames", but they are so much more. Also, it was their hometown crowd filling the audience so their reception was simple excellent.
incantation: ok, their performance was crushing. Cookie monster vocies all the way. However is seems the person singing changes everysingle time I see them. They send a song out to Seth from AC... I wonder if anyone told them that AC broke up and Seth moved to Texas.
Pugent Stench: Honestly, I only knew a few of their older songs, but I didn't really care for the new CD so I was really happy that I didn't really hear anything from the new cd that I recognized. The played an AC cover going out to Seth Putman.. granted it turned into an AC/DC cover. Also, did anyone notice that they took their shirts of at the same time? talk about the full monty. Their last two songs (encore) were one of the best parts of the whole night. |
|
Had a lot of fun...show was excellent!
i'm glad it wasn't the FULL monty though...that would have been frightening...
i think beyond the embrace got the most love from the crowd out of all the bands...especially from that 1 REALLY LOUD guy who managed to move around the entire venue screaming how "Beyond that Embrace rules" and could be heard by everyone no matter where they were....You want this guy as a fan if you are in a band...
yes, 2 cameras takes you longer to upload etc. and i'm getting sleepy ZZzzzzzzz |
|
I did a little incantation research... well from my pictures:
11-22-2000
04-05-2002
07-31-2002
02-15-2003
looks like a different person EACH and EVERY time. |
|
Thanks to all of you guys and gals who showed up! I wish it would have been in a smaller venue, but well, everything else in town was booked...
Seth Putman was at the show, he didn't moved in Texas. He also was at the Nunslaghter show...
But to tell you all the truth, I'm going to enjoy the next DIY show we're booking SOOOOO much. Those big shows are so stressfull it's unbelievable. Cannot wait!
Beyond The Embrace rules! It's not my thing but I was very highly surprised, they are so good, so tight, they headbang, and they are very nice people! I enjoy seing them more than In Flames...at least there's not attitude. That was my big surprise last night.
Rune..well not really my thing and I was super stressed out at that time.
Incantation were way better than at the Met, sound wise as well...
Pungent Stench were very good but the all time I was thinking, gee I hope it would have been at the Met...oh well cannot get everything.
Again, thanks to all of you people that showed up, we need to keep suporting each other to make our scene stronger! |
|
ADay, it was cool talking with you for a few minutes. I had a Mysticum shirt on, hooded sweatshirt, and we talked about the awesome Morbosidad. What is the next DIY show in RI? I have a black/grind band called Hirudinea and we are looking to play in RI. I can send you a demo if you want. You have an email? We will be playing the first day of the Bitterend Fest if you are going.
The show was great. I got there right before Incantation went on. I am really glad John is now singing. That was one of the best times I've seen Incantation. Fucking awesome classic death metal. Pungent Stench was killer as well. I was expecting much worse but thankfully they only played one newer song. Overall a great fun show, one of the best I've seen in awhile for this area. My neck hurts. "YEA BABY!" Pungent Stench rocked in all meaning of the word. |
|
Ninka i was looking at pictures of your band, i must complement you on your Gut shirt, if that was you, at least some people in mass enjoy Gut, keep it brutal man and im looking forward to seeing your band. |
|
Paul, cool man hope to see you at one of our shows. That is my brother Jay in the Gut shirt. I am the other guitarist (Mike) in the Profanatica shirt. I had a shaved head in those pics, I have some hair now so I look a little different. Say whats up if you come see us. Gut ruled!!! |
|
Ninka,
Yeah we'll be there for the fest, both days. If you have a demo, I wouldn't mind checking it out. Next DIY show? hum I don't know, we have a show coming June 14th but I'm not sure were to do it yet, either the Met or the Sickle...

|
I may be at the Mortician show , If I do I will hook you up with a copy...Otherwise I don't get to mass shows often , I could mail you a copy or something? |

Consider it a done deal. You can get both. We don't have anymore splits left but I can give you a burnt copy. |
