backed. Fodt til a Herske is a long running favorite of mine. back when i was in high school and melodramatic, i would sit in my room in the dark and listen to it, my mother always complained it sounded like an hour long funeral procession.
apparently he had something to do with some band called 'emperor' whatever that is.
I guess he also contributed synth work to a project called Brighter Death Now, on the title track of some recording called Necrose Evangelicum. Probably something hipsters would dig.
I don't know, I really dig the Stargate too, and Crypt. Nothing tops those first three though, and my shitty bootleg of 'the song of a long forgotten ghost.'

Haha shitty bootlegs ftw.
Crypt is good. I'll give you that. It's not GREAT like Kaiser though, or Anden. Or that first one I can't type.
I'm gonna have to re-visit this. This track is awesome. For some reason I don't even remember "The Stargate" having any resemblance to older material. Or maybe I'm just confusing it with that "November Rain" or whatever shit he released.
"The Smell of Rain" was the album directly after the Stargate, and it was garbage. Mortiis himself splits the band into three 'eras' the first being everything up to and including The Stargate, the second being "the smell of rain" and the third being everything after that, where he now has a full band and plays horrendous rock.
and to tell you the truth I don't remember 'the smell of rain' being too too bad, I remember some of it sounding like early 90's Skinny Puppy, but I haven't heard it in some time now so I could be wrong.

THAT'S IT! "The Smell Of Rain!"
and yup I've heard that rock shit. What the fuck. really. Glad he's doing what he wants but it sucks.
HAHA yesssss oh my god, this is exactly what I mean.
Definitely what I remember it to be. I can hear hints of throwaway Samael or SP. It's.......eh.
Glad that he's evolving, I just don't like his direction.
That said, I remember playing "Kaiser"out of a boom box in HS during math class. The teacher didn't even care. The students were annoyed, which is great, and the teacher was just like "I don't mind"
Yea it's actually not bad, I'm on the third track, 'spirit in a vacuum.' For some raisin I remember it being infinitely gay, but apparently I was mistaken.
I guess 'smell the rain' is Mortiis' 'blackacidevil' haha

I dunno man... I want to like it, because I'm into shit like Depeche Mode but I don't think I can subscribe to what he's doing now. There's a part during Smell the Witch that sounds like New Order's Blue Monday, only the version that Orgy did of that song. ugh.

Yea I made the Orgy comparison already hah. I'm not saying I'm gonna go out and buy it, I'm just saying it's somewhat less gay than I remember it being.
Good point. 2012 trioxin is definitely much closer to full blown homosexuality than 1999 trioxin was. I did pay nearly $20 to see Sabaton a few months ago, after all.
I did pay nearly $20 to see watch some fat retarded guy disco dance to Sabaton while tall eric and I stood in the way back pounding gin and blasting rails off an empty merch table a few months ago, after all.
