Two bands down so far. Downstairs was empty for the first band, but not upstairs. The passed couple days there have been a lot of people singing along to the first 2 bands.
Ok, the first 2 bands on the second stage were switched.
Anyhow, it is so weird to be seeing suidakra on at 1pm... granted they just have a track behind them for the folk instrument parts, but still... weird...
Diamond plate was fun, but now hung is on the main stage. In 3 years, they were from ralphs to the second stage of nemhf to the main stage of nemhf. They actually sound really good on the stage. I'm back a little bit from the stage and it sounds good.
Upstairs, revenge was really good though I missed the end which was probably epic as always.
Cockpunch! Was one of the bands I was really looking forward to. It has been so long since they played that they had to change all the myspace references in their songs to facebook. This is vincent from TAS's other band. I will leave it to xmikex to tell me what bands he was in that cockpunch! Stole riffs from.
The greenery was a nice surprise last year. It was obvious from the full room that people were expecting them to rule this year.
The singer from huntress is the skinniest thing I have ever seen. The kind of skinny that just isn't right and makes all the girls girls look at themselves and ask "wtf is wrong with me". Anyhow, her voice is killer. More king diamond than most females on napalm records. Usually femms on napalm sing operatic. This was pure metal.
The mongaloids played really well even though I kind of write off the band since I don't think I've ever seen them with the same members.
The new guitarist from god forbid was a very night guy (like all the dudes in that band) and took my saying that I didn't care for the title track of the new cd. He/keith recommended a different one for me to try.
Shipwreck's set was so good. Same with cruel hand. But shipwreck's limited shows per year make them inconsistant live. This year they've play a bunch more shows and it shows in their live set. Now if only they would put out the new record... though I walked in during lotus so it is all good.
100 demons is one of the best live bands. My camera battery died. So I had to run to grab a new one. Otherwise, I would have witnessed a lot more awesomeness. Oh well. I totally remember seeing 100d on that same stage over a decade ago and being completely terrified of them. I guess not much has changed since then except their singer and the fact that now I'm mostly on the stage.
