and more. ‘The Barghest O’ Whitby’ will be released November 7th on Peaceville Records on CD and limited red vinyl.

This single track, 27-minute epic represents the epitome of poetic grace and funeral soundscapes from one of gothic doom’s most celebrated acts. With a masterful blend of pounding guitar riffs and sombre atmospheric passages, My Dying Bride embarks on a chilling journey through superstition and folklore.
‘The Barghest O’ Whitby’ was recorded at Futureworks Studios, Manchester with long-time production partner and engineer, Mags. The release is the first to feature violin/keyboardist Shaun Macgowan, and sees the return of Shaun “Winter“ Taylor Steels to the drum-stool for this recording. The cover artwork for ‘The Barghest O’ Whitby’ also appears courtesy of vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe.
Stay tuned for more information on My Dying Bride and ‘The Barghest O’ Whitby.’

Wow, that guitar riff was completely uninspiring. I hope there's a lot more to the song than that. I know they'll never do another "Turn Loose The Swans" but another "Dreadful Hours" would be enough for me.

Excited.

The trailer reveals nothing about the song. This sample could be a transition into something greater. Skepticism was successful with their (roughly) 27 minute long "AES" ep, and I'm confident that MDB can also pull this off.

Well said Mike

Thanks, man. I've always enjoyed concept albums and I'm really digging the fact that they're basing this off of dark English folklore that originated in their county.

hell yeah. King Diamond, novembers doom, Edge OF Sanity, all had great concept records.
