New site? Maybe some day.

Got Verizon. Want to get the unlimited data before July 7th or whatever. I want something legit - had my last phone for 3+ years and have waited long enough. Looking at IPhone or Droid. I have an IPod Touch and figure it'll be pretty similar, so I was thinking of going with a Droid. What's the best/newest one? Thanks for any help! |
|
don't get a Windows phone. I wish I got a Droid, guy I work with has a Droid, Samsung something or other. Bad ass apps, kind of techy but very slick.
Fuck Apple |

i refuse to upgrade. dumb phone ftw. |
|
I just picked up an HTC Thunderbolt and love it. I think it's the best option out of all the 4G Android phones on Verizon right now. |
|
I love my android phone, but I love my iPad so much I just bought an iPad 2. Personally, I need a physical keyboard on a phone. Droid has a huge leg up on a lot of things over the iPhone for phone since there are home screens instead of just a collection of apps.
Out of the phones on Verizon, the Driod 2 global is the one that i would go with since it has a physical kb. Forgetting that, the Samsungs have the best looking screens, but the galaxy s 2 isn't out until after the 7th. Really I use my phone a hell of a lot and I use under 2gb per month. Usually around 1.1gb. |
|
I'm a data junkie. I used over 3gb last month. I watch a lot of Netflix and hbogo on my phone. |

I was comparing the Samsung Charge to the HTC Thunderbolt before buying. People were RAVING about how great the screen was compared to the Thunderbolt so much so that I assumed the TB's screen was garbage. I checked myself and it seems fine. I've had the phone for a few weeks now and the screen is flat out awesome. I don't know wtf everybody was talking about.
At any rate, I liked HTC's UI software way more than Samsung's. Personal preference, really, but it's a huge part of any Android phone. I'd look at some YouTube reviews of phones you're interested in (and maybe even look for side-to-side comparison reviews of a couple phones you're curious about) and then play with them in the stores before buying. |

Also, fuck Motorola. I had a Droid X before. I almost didn't buy another android phone when shopping recently. I basically found out that every annoyance and gripe I had with my Android phone was all due to Motorola's motoblur GUI. HTC's Sense is waaaaaay fucking better. This phone is so much more useable than the Droid. |
|
I like my Crackberry. It's shitty and boring and matches my misery. |
|
i'll stick with my Fartphone. |

that's interesting because I have an original Droid and love it |

the Samsung super amoled screen is just the best out there now. HTC Sene UI is so much better than sansung's touchwiz because it's a whole package. I hated sense UI cause on win6.x it was terrible. But I bought a $1.99 app called Beautiful Widget and it does all the weather stuff. Plus agenda app does the calendar. So basically, I added 2 widgets to my sammy phone and got sense ui. |
|
Things I can remember that pissed me off about Motorola:
- on screen keyboard constantly not allowing me to type
- calendar app = junk
- handling of Exchange mail = junk
- double audible notifications for messages / mail
- slowness / temporary freezing of widgets after unlocking phone (unrelated to Android "5 second rule")
Sense also just does a lot of things I didn't MIND about Motoblur better. |
|
Maybe these were just issues motoblur had on Droid x, but they were all existent even after wiping the phone. |
