Im going to guess the U.S. will probably go in and carpet bomb the main city/nuke factories

I am a pacifist, but N Korea's got to go, they starve their own people and bitch about getting money and food if they behave for a year.

But I guess China would never allow for a united Korea under the south aka under America.

The cancels of a war there are very very very slim. China doesn't want Korea with the bomb, but they wouldn't allow the USA to bomb either.

allow? A successful war to protect South Korea is about all the would get Obama reelected with this recent mongoloid christian republican uprising. I feel like we might do something like bomb Pyongyang's new nuke facility and then wait and see if N korea settles down and accepts peace or not.

America is definitely not afraid of war with China, I almost feel like it might happen in the current climate of currency tensions

to quote red dawn

"I don't know. Two toughest kids on the block, I guess. Sooner or later, they're gonna fight. "

That post shows nievity of the situation. Of course we are afraid to go to war with a country that has the highest percentage of troops out of any country and is protected by the third largest economy with the third largest amount of nukes and who also controls a large portion or our debt and is our number one trading partner. Us going to war with north Korea is the us going to war with china. Its not going to happen unless north kores does something like accidentally nuking too close to china.

You know Americans said this same thing before ww1 and ww2

No one ever thought it was possible for another European war because they were too intertwined through trading and economies. The fact is the military industrial complex doesn't make money during peace times and every time the country has had high unemployment all of a sudden some major conflict breaks out and uncle sam starts hiring.

A lot of people think that because china is our biggest partner that we can't go to war, when in fact Brazil and Mexico would easily replace China and probably be a much safer and more rational choice as trading partners.

and about owning debt, this is a misconception, the only reason China has bought our debt is too keep our currency from deflating because that would then mean inflation in China and thus they would seem a less than desirable trading partner as their prices and currency would rise, there is actually a huge issue right now over China devaluing their currency in order to keep prices low thus making it harder for America to recover from the economic set back.

i sure as fuck wouldn't want a war with a country whose population outnumbers ours by a billion people, unless they all crashed their military vehicles on the way to the first battle.

nice try TRoD bringing up WW1/WW2. You just forgot that there were no nukes in WW1/WW2.. until then end of WW2 where we had the nukes. War with china would probably be the last war we have.

toggletoggle post by TheRidersofDoom  at Nov 23,2010 9:59am
Having nukes means nothing if both nations have tons of them, plus we are known to have both missile interceptors and subs that can launch nukes patrolling the south china seas.

We are assured mutual destruction is all, which means nothing to the war hawks on both sides who have been having wet dreams about this day back when it was Russia on the other side.

and we still have a far superior air force and navy which means everything in a war with a giant ocean in between the two sides.

Rev got it, every major world economy depends on China. Won't happen. Iran far before China.

Shut your traps. We won't go to war against the North unless they do something so over the top it can't be ignored. To invade North Korea is to sentence the order of power in the world to death. We may have one of the most advanced militaries in the world but it was not designed to fight in North Korea. North Korea is absurdly militarized, to the point where any foreign army stepping foot into the country is basically a death wish.

It's different when we're using 4 million dollar weapon systems against a bunch of illiterate men riding camels. North Korea is serious business and going to war with them is not something that can be easily won. There's a reason they're still around.

That would not be a rational choice at all. 95% of heavy metals, particularly those used in electronic gadgets, come from China. Mexico and Brazil could not possibly take the place of China, particularly because they are also trading partners with China.

We're fucked if we go to war with North Korea because their leader doesn't poop.

This would all be averted if we sent Tom Cruise on a mission of good will and spiritual philanthropy to convert Kim Jong Il to Scientology.

You don't think with some of the idiots in congress that we just rushed in won't be crooning to end our dependence on China in form of a war if they threatened us about the Korean defense we have just pledged?

CNN is just slow as fuck, though I am sure they just don't want all the main stream media fans staying up all night with their guns clenched in their fists

remember what the blacks did to the koreans during the LA riots, wonder what would happen if shit got real over there soon?

toggletoggle post by TheRidersofDoom  at Nov 27,2010 10:18pm
Guess the evacuation has already been lifted, they say the north are firing on their own territory in order to trick us into attacking first, maybe some clause they have with China if we were to attack first?

oh well, off to work, maybe when I get out something other than media hype will happen.
