john goodman's character in treme must be pissed! |
the fucking government cleaning it up, who do they think they are, let the Free Market take care of it!! |
attn: Slag, looks like you'll be on fire as soon as your plane lands |
Attn New Orleans, I love you. Marry Me. I don't care if you are dirty, oily, smelly and devoid of any other life other than humanoid. As long as you make me shit fire and get me wasted drunk as I wander your streets in a haze of amazement, I will always be yours.
Love,
Slag. |
PS, heres to hoping NOLA continues to press on. This sucks. Some of the nicest people on the planet reside here.
I was reading that BP rejected plans earlier this year for an emergency shutdown measure that would/could have prevented this. It cost too much to install.
Assholebitchdickspermfaces. You suck. |
to be fair i have nothing against NOLA. would love to see Down perform there followed by a hearty helping Jambalaya. |
NEW ORLEANS IS A DYING WHOOOORE!!!! |
This oil slick reminds me of the slimy carnivorous slick in Creepshow 2. YAY!!!
What happened to The Thing!!!!!!!!????? :(
Oh, story. Not full movie. I was blinded by my rage for 1 second. carry on.
Creepshow 1 with "WHERES MY CAKE MADELIA" was kick ass too. Happy fathers day! |

lol the Thing is def in my top 3 horror movies for sure. that creepshow story gave me crazy nightmares when i was a kid though. |
the part in creepshow when leslie nielsen slams the door, then turns around and sees the ted danson zombie scared the shit out of me when i was a kid. every once in a while, i'm still afraid to turn my back on a room when i go to close the door. |

Fucking right.
This leak is spewing an estimated 200,000 gallons a day into the gulf... and those assholes still haven't managed to stop it.
Simply a disaster. I love how the news isn't making this the top story right now. It's that "foiled" car bomb shit that is more important, in their eyes.
This is quite bad.. Perhaps it will be worse than the exxon valdez. That was in an enclosed area, not the open ocean.
It is also quite ironic that this comes 3 weeks after obama approves more drilling, and a week after the wind farm was approved.
and yea, nola has nice people, awesome food, and is one of the most culturally signifigant cities in the country. |
I think we should just say fuck it and go back to 1838 or something. |

HAH. You would want to kill yourself if you weren't the son of a white colonial elite.
Fucking disaster...too bad the gulf isn't full of the blood of oil tycoons. |
also, I hear Obama is being douche and not declaring a national emergency...when this is clearly one. |

I meant the modes of getting around, not the culture hahah
but seriously, our addiction sucks, everything is made from oil! |

Many people have estimated that it is already worse than the exxon valdez spill since the weekend, and it's still going...
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/01/o...spill-worse-than-exxo_n_559840.html |
of course it's worse, the exxon valdez was one ship, this is an entire artery of oil, who knows how much is down there, opened and bleeding into the sea.
I say the fishermen should round up the BP execs and hang them from the masts.
This will probably have resounding affects on all of us, not just gas prices and seafood prices going up... |
It is worse. 11m gallons of crude oil spilled in an enclosed area with the exxon valdez disaster.
This will trump it- there's rumors it's leaking nearly 1m gallons of oil a day.
BP said they'll pay for the efforts, but it will quite possibly make them near bankruptcy.
Considering BP is one of the top 5 richest companies in the world, we'll see what happens. |
I was talking to the other guitar player from Wreckoning last night and he's considering going down to the Gulf for a few days to help clean up and I may go with him. I guess the Red Cross will pay for all lodging and you get 2 meals a day. |

this is making me crazy. how convenient that this "foiled bombing" happens EXACTLY when the worst oil disaster EVER is unfolding. this oil spill is a prime example of the arrogance of man towards just how powerful the Earth is. we wanted oil, and man, we got it. but how easy is it to overshadow this with TERRORISM. so unbelievably ridiculous. |
as the most recommended comment on nytimes.com states: "the real question is how this person found a parking spot in times square on Saturday night" |
tell me about it. and BP will pay as little as possible to clean it up, and after legal fees that will probably be reduced by political means and investments linked to oil-related commodities and such...they will still make bank with their fat new govt contracts. |
i am all up in this bitch right now. I love New Orleans |
GUMBO > NOT GUMBO. im at mothers now. |

I side with Slag.
The news outlets seem to be getting more and more "hush-hush" about this. I think people are finally realizing how fucking awful this will be and the MSM is intentionally avoiding it as to prevent a panic. |
I was annoyed at how the Times Square failed Bombing made this story disappear, but with the major news outlets IN New York, it was probably inevitable.
Still, its horrifying at the lack of news monitoring on it. I have to search out information, instead of it being the first story every time.
I can't believe this is still happening. WTF! |
this is such a fucking disaster |
Man, Waterworld is gonna suck. |
john goodman's character in treme must be pissed! |
I still need to watch this. I've been downloading them but have only watched part of the first episode. It seemed slow, but knowing how awesome The Wire got after a slow start, I'm definitely willing to give it a chance. |
now they are talking about plugging it up with garbage. this is like a bad National Lampoon movie. |
"The process of stopping the gusher with garbage is called a "junk shot" or a "top kill." In that procedure, debris such as shredded up tires, golf balls and similar objects would be shot under extremely high pressure into the blowout preventer in an attempt to clog it and stop the leak."

It actually sounds more and more like an episode of South Park. |
Viable solution is to cut it all the way open and just get it over with at this point. |
seriously. drain the whole fucking earth. |
finally. CNN has finally stated this to be the worst oil disaster in American history.
took about 2 months. People were saying this shit months ago. fucking picky media and their selective reporting.
I'm TOSing Rupert Murdoch to Steve Case as we speak. |
Ted Turner said its because God is pissed at us. |
this just in:
north korean torpedo cause of oilrig explosion |
Oil execs are the real terrorists. Stop posting start killing. |
Arilliusbm it's not selective it's been done too us on purpose just
as the whole terrorist fallback is an idea from real truths. America has grown into a media facist nation.. Real execs of America have control of all forms of communication... Media, Internet, u fuckin name it. |
I wouldn't doubt they are draining it purposely so we have too bUy oil from Newly! Funded oil rigs from Arabia because some dumbfuck thought it wouldbe cool too invade the middle east with the phony intention ofkillibg terrorists when everything has to do with oil. And what ECONOMY needs too survive. |
Yes, I'm plenty aware of the corporate hijack of this nation. |
Weebles wobble but they never accidentally oil in the gulf. |
Weebles wobble but they never accidentally oil in the gulf. |
This made me laugh because I'm human. |
Don't forget to lynch the lobbyists! |
Did not want to see those pictures. Do want to go punch BP execs in the face for waiting this long to try to find a way to stop the flow that allows them to still be able to drill there afterwards instead of just fixing the fucking problem. |
This isn't the worst oil spill of all time though.
http://www.forbes.com/2010/04/29/worst-oil...ness-energy-oil-spills_slide_2.html
Anyway, crude oil is a product of nature. Sure it sucks in the short term but it's nothing the environment wouldn't recover from over time. An earthquake could just as easily have cracked open up a well of oil into the ocean. What sucks is that that didn't happen. Humans caused it. |
That's a debatable point. They still aren't even sure how much has actually leaked. I can almost guarantee that more oil has been lost from this well than any tanker can carry. |
agreed, they are definitely downplaying the severity. they have been since day 1. |
It doesn't matter when all of this could have been prevented.
NWO did it |
I blame Eric Bischoff.
Only the Nation of Domination is real. |
i don't really feel anything towards this anymore. anger is useless, nothing will change, BP will continue on as before, politicians will cover everything up, any sort of "regulatory" changes will take years to implement, and will just be met with delays due to bipartisan bullshit. so sit back and enjoy the ride. |
Marty Janetti says, FUCK YOU BIG OIL |
LOL another rig EXPLODED
http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2010/09/02/rescue-efforts-underway-after-oil-rig-accident-in-gulf/?hpt=T2 |
Yes, yeeeesss.
i wish candy factories would blow up so it would rain skittles like in the commercials |

Turns out that Tom Bombadil and the Unnatural Disasters was not a one hit wonder band. |
