THE ACACIA STRAIN Posts Video Studio Update, Confirmed for "Cool Tour"
Studio Update is first in a series of video blogs; band to tour with As I Lay Dying and more

Western Massachusetts' own THE ACACIA STRAIN have released their first studio update in a series of videos to document the entire recording process while at Planet Z Studios in Hadley, MA. The band recently entered the studio to record the follow up to 2008's, "Continent." The band was also just confirmed to take part in "Cool Tour," alongside As I Lay Dying, Underoath, Between the Buried And Me, Blessthefall, Architects, Cancer Bats and War of Ages. THE ACACIA STRAIN join the tour July 13th in Atlanta, GA and the concludes on August 1st in San Francisco, CA. (The band was told they were unable to play the tour kick off on July 12 at House of Blues Orlando, which is on Disney property, due to objectionable lyrical content.)

Studio Update #1 features the band excitedly pulling up to the studio in their new ride, loading in their newly acquired gear for their first day of recording.

The Acacia Strain's Studio Update #1 can be viewed at the band's MYSPACE and at Prostheticrecords.com.

Vocalist Vincent Bennett had this to say, "We are so happy to be back at Planet Z with Zeuss and get this record rolling. We are going to do these updates often, so keep checking back to see what we are up to!"

Bennett also commented on their participation in "Cool Tour;" "We are going to have all new merch designs that you are only going to be able to buy on this tour. COOL TOUR EXCLUSIVES! We are also going to be debuting one or two new songs on the tour. This is the first time we are going to be playing these songs live and the first time they are going to be heard outside the studio. I feel like this tour has a different "personality" than the other summer tours... it's just so... COOL."

THE ACACIA STRAIN'sfirst DVD, "The Most Known Unknown," released February 16, debuted at #10 on Billboard's Top Music Video Sales Chart and 2008's album, "Continent," debuted at number 2 on Billboard's "Heatseekers" Chart. The band won the "Myspace Readers' Choice Award" at 2009's GOLDEN GODS awards.

Recap of the Day
Cancer Bats- reminded me of a stoner rock band version of everytime i die.
Archetechs- dumb.
Acacia Strain- Pissed the security off the most. I've only seen them at the palladium. The sound at hob was very good, they didn't sound muddy first time in a long time i've seen them with two guitar players. Granted they still plat sloppy, but I enjoyed seeing the security have a hard time dealing with the crowd cause of the shit they put me through...
Hopesfall?- ok if you're into that crap.
BTBAM- wow best set of the day. their new stuff is great. they are becoming more and more of a jam band and thats a good thing.
Underoath- changed their sound. Have Norma Jeans old drummer cool light show.
As I Lay Dying- played only a few songs and also talked about how they disliked the HOB for not allowing them to park their bus in front and cutting them off early so they told the crowd to do a wall of death and that pissed the security off.

House of Blues Nice venue but their policies suck. I couldn't bring my LEG BRACE in cause it was considered a 'weapon' fuck that.
