a webcam used because it's easy to show in the picture. however, take the same approach to an optical drive that jams or fails , replacing cooling fans, etc and you start to see the point a little more clearly. easy-access modulated parts are easy to service and replace, whereas every time someone reports a problematic mac to the IT department, there's an empty desk for a week. |
|
Ironically, this is the actual main screen from the Enterprise. There's a few deleted scenes in "Generations" where Data keeps accidentally bringing up the dock and swearing at the screen. |

Couldn't agree more! |

Ironically, I spent most of today at my boy's print shop getting the Darkwor shirt and CD silkscreens ready to go, which involved way more of me learning to use a Mac than I like. I had to watch that "editing video on a Mac" rant on YouTube to feel clean again.
(And yes, Connie, I checked my anus afterwards. No blood.) |
|
funny thing is i didnt know when these came out, since i'm not on tech sites everyday and do not follow the rumor websites so when i went into work people were like dude new imacs are siq and i had no clue. |

figured you would.
keep in mind that i have slightly above average knowledge of technical stuff and i didnt research BEFORE i wrote it. i looked up stuff after i woke up and was pissed that like 5 sites had like 12 articles on their front page about the new apple shit. their computers are a fucking joke. dont buy their computers... buy their OS. |

Or just get FreeBSD and skip ALL the faggotry.
I wasn't blown away by the Mac OS UI. Very kludgy for anything but very basic tasks. Windows is superior, except Vista. |
|
It's great that you guys don't like the iMac because no one is forcing you to buy one.
The arguments (or lack of) that you're providing are also why, OBVIOUSLY, no one should ever buy a laptop. Who cares about portability? Separate components for everything.
Done bitching yet? |
|
laptops are serviceable by anyone, apple's not so much.
apple hardware is an IT nightmare.
i.e. iphones - non-removable battery. |

freebsd is cool... in my blurb i mentioned Ubuntu, which would probably be easier for a normal person to use for their daily facebook/printing/music listening/downloading needs. hell, i made Will Dysentery use Ubuntu and he has no idea what to do with a computer and hasnt had much of a problem with it other than Ubuntu not recognizing his printer, which is like the only printer Ubuntu doesnt recognize instantly. |
|
also its really cool to make everything not serviceable by the people that OWN the hardware. Apple charges you too much for their fashionable shit hardware, then makes it nearly impossible for an average do-it-yourselfer to fix stuff on it. you then have to take it, to an Apple certified repair place and get charged out the ass for basic shit. they are marketing geniuses though. no doubt about it. the only Apple product i like is the 160 iPod Classic. its no frills and has tons of space.
also fuck Apple's software. iTunes is shit. you plug an iPod into your comp and Apple has tons of tiny processes running all over your computer. it's scary shit. |
|
I almost agree on Fuck Mac, but I've never edited graphics on a PC and hadn't said a million times "this would be SO much easier on a Mac". |
