New site? Maybe some day.
First off, I'd like to thank Steve (DestroyYouAlot) for his time and effort in the band. It will not be forgotten.
We've decided to try to move on for now, and work on new material. We may head in a different direction - more agressive and melodic at parts. Only time will tell.
That being said, we are seeking a new bass player. We practice 1-2 times a week, generally on a Friday night and another night during the week. It is in Brighton and the rent would be 60 a month.
We only require that the person shows up for practice, has the ability to pay the rent for the spot, and has similar interests in music and working equipment.
Influences include everything, from thrash and death, but mostly to black and heathen/viking metal.
No hardcore drug use - do that on your own time, not the bands' (in other words, just be responsible). Pot and Alcohol are genuinely accepted.
If interested, please respond on this thread or email our myspace at http://www.myspace.com/herugrimclan
Thanks

We hope all goes well. Friday was great to see you guys play. Were in an even worse boat however, we lost our guitarist and we never can find a dedicated bassist. So I will have to play guitar and bass in the meantime. |
Does age make a difference an car? |
we would prefer over 21. and yes, a car would be nice. unless there's other means to getting to practice on time |
and it's okay if we don't get anyone now. we'll just continue to write/record and then look in the future.
just throwing this out there because I'm not sure if there's many bass players availble.. |
damn i'd like to have given this a go. |
Looking for a bass player to hold down the rhythm and to add to the music and to also contribute to songs and lyrics. Open to criticism and to be able to communicate ideas and put desinated time to when we practice. Someone who is studious and consistant on wanting to make great music and to JAM in order to create more riffs and songs. Please contact us and let us know if you would be interested! Thanks. |
i'm sure you won't but if you're still looking around summertime i'll be moving back. |
Who knows we may still be looking from the looks of any bass player and bass players that would be a good fit? I guess we will see!! |
best of luck guys. hope you get back to doing shows with new material sooner than later. |
Thanks Beleth. I would love to play a show with you guys again - cake would be great too. Bring some more cakes |

You gonna sell me your bass stuff when you get back? |
naw but i might offer you your 350 for that cab i sold you before i left. |
Well last night for the first time the three of us got a good practice in and jammed together for about 3 hours. We came up with some cool riffs and material and, if one stopped they soon played on, because the others did not. I came up with some cool drum bits and the cool, atmospheric guitar riffs. We pretty much came up with a lot of new stuff and would probably have a whole new song done if we structured it more, but the writing process had begun. We will be recording prac. soon and will have new material very soon and hope to get it out to the public! It was great to just feed of the two guitars that played similar stuff but not the same. It was a good time and cannot wait to jam again this friday. Well here is a musical update incase you dont get to see the myspace updates. We hope to get more down and to hopefully release something soon, even as a blip of someting and teaser! Which is why a great bass player would be great to have! |

How about you fix the guitar you sold me then you give it back to me. The action blows. We'll be even. |
pffft complaining from the guy who didnt bring a blunt with him. |
The kid at Taco Bell who constantly refills his drink after dumping it out got a better bargain. You lost the blunt when you mentioned the CODC sticker on the guitar. |
this hurts more then anything else in the whole wide world, Aaron we just need to hug it out and then roll a blunt and go beat up some college kids. |
Where are the fucking Bass Players that can really play! |
i'd do it but i just moved back got no equipment, job or ride
clearly i am the perfect choice to do this ha |
well, keep it in mind once you get your feet on the ground. money saved? |
yeah but i gotta get a job squared away before i can touch any of it.
i mean shit i bought a record today and on the way home i was like wtf did i just do that for. |
haha. i remember that feeling.
get a job for the sole purpose of being in a band |
well yeah there's that and my own place and a car oh yeah i need a job for monies too. |
if we throw some slam elements in, would anyone be interested then? |
I don't know shit about guitars and whatnot... but is there a way to aux out a portion of the guitar's frequencies over to a bass amp and therefore not need a bass player? From what I usually hear most bass players just follow the guitar anyway. Is that possible somehow? |

Hahaha... See "every shitty bass player thread on this site". LOL |
Honestly, for recording I can just do bass no problem. But as far as our live sound / writing, etc. it would be cool to have someone do it. |
I don't understand how there is a shortage of bass players right now?
Maybe it's because no one wants to play our style? haha |
get the broad who played for ascendancy |
I'll ask seth, our drummer. he drummed in ascendancy |
i'd love to do bass for a metal project by bass is broken and i have no amp |
tits? we've got porn all over the walls of our practice spot. does that count? |
no cause thats not here.
TITS OR GET A FUCKING BASS PLAYER |
Jim, who's int he band, just you and Seth?
I might be willing to do this...
I'm not playing with CNV anymore and I love playing bass for BM bands... |
who plays bass for CNV now? |
me, seth and mike (ex-abaroth). I know he is on the fence about having bass right now because we want to focus on completing our songs and recording.
but we have about 75% of our material written and need to piece together the rest and complete a song or two. i'm expecting that we'd have a full 50-60 minute set done sometime by early summer.
we are also thinking about what to cover and as of right now, we're leaning towards Dissection - The Somberlain.
I'm not quite sure when we're gonna be ready for shows yet because no lyrics are completed (sorry DYA, figured you'd want to keep yours) and we want the music to be done first |
I'm gonna totally put them to upright bass and bongos for my spoken word tour. |
who plays bass for CNV now? |
Eric |
He all we need is a bass player who completes the rhythm with mike and who can hold the song structure down. Also, who can play fast and and flow between rhythm and lead! pay rent, car and own equipment! We need a bass player who writes and jams with us. The three of us have over two ours of jams and hve been doing this for about 2 months... Who can learn shit right away and right original shit! |
who plays bass for CNV now? |
Eric |
Eric is to talented to just play bass... he is a sick guitarist! |
W3 doesn't know what he's talking about. Eric plays guitar for CNV. |
Either way, Eric has mad skills and needs to create a super human band! |
W3 doesn't know what he's talking about. Eric plays guitar for CNV. |
oh well goddamn. |
I thought Eric played in Abhorred? Did I miss something? |
Abhorred hasn't been a band for years.
Eric plays guitar in Cold Northern Vengeance and bass in Rampant Decay. |
well then who plays bass in CNV? |
Ken Gillis plays bass for CNV.
Last I saw Keith Bennet played bass for CNV. I dunno if he's doing the tour with them or what. |
cigarette slim bojangles johnson should take the reins if this keith bennet fellow isn't doing the tour. |
Eric is on Guitar
Keith is on Bass
I switch from bas to guitar for that show at the Mid East but I just got a new job and I can't do the tour in April so I had to bail...
If you guys want to try to jam with me on bass in Herugrim, I'd be down. I learn quickly and dont wank around too much so I can hold down the rhythm with Seth no problem.
I don't have a bass amp though although I can probably borrow one.

I've done this in a couple of bands and it's awesome but also a tremendous pain in the ass and definitely more work than just finding a bassist. |
Hey, this seems like something that would be a good fit for me.
Waiiiiiiiiiit a minuuuuuute... |
YOU GUYS, YOU GOT ME AGAIN. |
