New site? Maybe some day.

It's not just on here, but also on Craigslist and Ebay. People will sell used items, sometimes ones that had been used for years with dings or scratches or parts missing, for nearly the exact same price as a new product. Why does this make any sense? Using the product devalues it: It should be worth less because of the time and wear. Instead, I'll see something like a used iPhone for $200-250, or a used amp for $600. Does this make any sense? It's becoming the "trend". |

i dunno what you mean? i just got string of great deals on used and even new stuff on clist |

this thread should be renamed to guitar centers sale thread, everyday there is a sale, but the thing is no one goes by the list price... |

Well, for instance I end up finding things on ebay all the time that may be very used, even missing boxes or parts, and they sell for about $5 less than new retail. On Craigslist, people say "I'd really like to get 15,000 for more truck" and thing is a beat down, 140K piece of crap.
I think people expect too much for their stuff. My theory is you should expect 75%-80% after a small amount of use in under a year, and then it goes down from there. |

if someone's willing to buy it at that price, why shouldn't they sell it? If it doesn't get bought, it'll sit there until they lower the price... it works itself out. |

SUPPLY AND DEMAND. Are you 8?
