New site? Maybe some day.

if your bored at work you might want to read through some of this. this dude bought some new marshall stuff. on the second page though, he reveals that he had an ear candy and got rid of it. i only read 2 of the 30 something pages but it seems like it might be of some interest to you considering you are getting one. he said something about it getting really dirty (soundwise) over time. *shrugs shoulders. |

tone is subjective. What that guy likes may be way different than what Brian likes. |

yea i know brian likes the dirty crunch. i just figured itd probably be an educational read. i have no idea what the other 30 something pages of that thread are though. |

did you mean the bad cat? I see nothing about ear candy.
Only complaint I saw about the bad cat was the headroom. Dude had a 30 watt and I'm getting a 50 plus if I have that problem I'll find a slave to run through.
As far as getting dirty over time, again, different amp entirely. Different construction. I've never heard that complaint about anything Bad Cat or Matchless did. Dude probably needed to change his tubes. Class A amps are less power efficient and require more tube maintenance. |

oh yea. sorry. |

yeah, I mean...tone is such a heated subject. If I got discouraged by everything I read on messageboards it would be ridiculous. If you did, you would start to believe that your XXX sucks, and you get a good sound out of it.
I'm not going to fret about my Bad Cat unless I've had it for like 3 months and haven't dialed in a sound I love. Granted I doubt it, because the 20 minutes I spent with the thing in store was like ear sex. |
|
WANT. |
|
that one a them 'electrics' outta washington state?
my best bro has a green 4x12 that he runs with a custom frenzel.
|
|
ok, I just re-read the post about getting too dirty too fast.
Probably referring to turning the clean channel up. You want to be able to have that break up and semi-distortion sound at a certain volume. Apparently it didn't stay clean for a loud enough volume for this guy's taste.
Has nothing to do with deterioration over time. |
