Obviously Blu-Ray is winning the war, but what is everyone else's opinions? I'm thinking about getting a PS3 only because of the price of a Blu-Ray player is the same as a PS3. Anyone out there have any problems playing Blu-Ray DVD's on their PS3's? I found on my old PS2, there were some problems (i.e. skipping, stopping, etc.) before the thing shit the bed and I had to buy a new one. Hopefully this problem has been fixed cause I wanna watch some kick ass movies in high def!
I don't know the official numbers like I did, but I think the failure rates of PS3's is like 5% and Xbox360's are around 30%. Not to say the PS3 will never fail or the Xbox360 will definitely fail, but the numbers are staggering.
im just surprised that I was on the "winning side"

I have both, I've said it in another thread. I don't see any difference. The only good thing is that when it is declared "officially" dead is that best buy and circuit city etc. are going to be blowing them out. I am going to buy alot!

I don't get the point. I never watched a movie and thought "Only if this were a wee-bit bigger..."
There really is no difference between the two. DVDs as a whole are going to be obsolete soon enough anyways. I don't see any reason why anyone would go out and buy a specialty deck just to play Blu-Ray dvds.
There's a ton of money to be made in licensing charges for creating and distributing Blu-ray as opposed to HD DVD. That's the biggest reason why the industry has pushed for Blu-ray
