New site? Maybe some day.

I mean I like noodling a guitar, and owning a trombone and all but I just hate music. I hate notes, harmonies, verses, chorures... don't get me started on bridges. Anybody else feel the same way and love the idea of music, but can't stand listening to it?
j/k lolz |

I hate dotted half rests. SRSLY. |
|
i don't know shit about music or theory, i just play whatever i think sounds good or could be passed off as atheist |
|
you've got some serious issues with me if you even consider using tied notes |
|
I admit I like those things that look like Z's with the little C's hanging from them. |
|
true...guilty pleasures...but true |

Fucking sesquialtera, shit is so faggy. |

I've been playing guitar for 6 years and drums for about 2.5 and I've never considered myself a musician. Musicians are snotty dicks. Go noise! |

Is it a snotty dick move to look down one's nose at musicians? 'Cause if so, I think I might have just uncovered a spot of irony. |

Well, I'm actually learning a lot of tapping patterns to make my tapping a bit cleaner also. |

if you know the basic major and minor scale patterns then you can pretty much play any scale in the book. it's almost like algebra ;) |

Theory is cool to a certain extent and definitely helps with writing. Though trying to jam with people who are fixated on only theory can be a painful experience. I tend to play by ear. |

I'm kinda the same way as Lamp; I've been playing guitar for about 6 years, and playing drums for about a year and I don't consider myself a musician either. Not because I think people who call themselves musicians are snotty but mainly because I'm not really that great on either instrument, I know close to nothing about writing/reading music, and I've never really played in a band besides a few unsuccessful jam sessions with people who only wanted to play technical metalcore garbage. So I don't look down on people who call themselves musicians, I just know I'm not good enough to be called one myself. |
|
All the "musicians" I went to high school with were snotty dicks, so fuck them.
I just like to play fast. |
|
I play music and thus consider myself a musician. I know i'm not that good. I like music. |
|
I play music and think I'm pretty decent at it. Understand theory and did well in classes and all that. That being said when I'm writing I like to think that my knowledge of theory doesn't dictate the way I play or write so much as it becomes an internal part of the conscious. There is a theoretical side to noise and punk and all that stuff too. Theory is actually a very dynamic thing. Not so rigid as perceived...etcetcetc |
