11 days until I slay deer with my bow....I won the bonus deer lottery in Maine this year so that means unlimited does for $12 each and unlimited bucks for $32 each. Bow only of course.....gun hunting is for pseudo men......unless of course it's duck hunting.
I went out all day today....picked my trees, climbed up my stands, and cut my shooting lanes. Any branches thet were in the way are now cut and out of my way. What a beautiful autumn day. My wife and kid both came out with me 3 miles into my property behind my house, and along the swamp-line. We set our stands in, climbed and tapped the range finders to be sure of our yardage to specific landmarks so that during the season, we can measure our exact yardage plus windage to lay the killing shot on the meat that will feed my family for the whole winter.
Deer season is LIFE!!!!

My grandma (Granfather's 2nd wife) who just passed a couple of months ago made the most fucking INSANE venison stew. Even though I know people who wouldn't eat it knowing it was venison would have NO IDEA it wasn't beef if they weren't told so. The shit crocked all day and was so damn juicy...I need to get my own so I can make some stew.
