When you see it, you'll shit bricks. |
Oops. I missed this because I am stupid. |
awesome show! awesome pics! |
I'm really happy with my pictures from last night. rare, I usually hate them. I think it was the white back lighting that steve had on the banner. |
noosebomb: I drank a double quadruple white mocha latte from harbucks so that my ass wouldn't knod off during their set. Lack of sleep and all. Jeff said that they sped up a bit and he was right. They were almost medium paced... Soon, they will be catching up with those speed artists radiohead. No head nodding from me for lack of sleep, only the steady head bob of a 30-something'er trying not to look out of place in a room full of scumbags. I find I funny that Jeff joined Abhorred and then sucked it's soul into Noosebomb. How these guys fit on the stage was nothing short or a biblical miracle. Middle east upstars with 3 or 4 backlines and a drumset already on the raiser? Fogedaboutit. Though with MSD dropping pounds, they will soon be able to play on the most postage stamp sized stages. too bad that didn't happen before obriens super-sized their stage. It did happen before a brontosaurus-burger sized lump of grease hit his heart one exciting day while passing a K-3 school. |

Bricks were shat. |
Many thanks to Robin for letting us open. And many thanks to the Rev for taking pictures and letting me grab his ass in the bar. |
yeah, I "let" you like girls "let" rich horror beat the piss out of them and dump them on the side of the road after leaving a positive DNA sample mixed with bleach on their forehead. |
I thought Rich only did that to little boys. |
They do let me. They love every second of it. Skot from Defcon 4 wore a snazzy shirt last night. I didn't get home until 6 this morning. I like booze. Fart. |
taipan: 2/3 of today is the day. Steve plays more rocky stuff. The drummer is a different dude. This band is so highly alcohol fueled that thr front of the stage was nothing but shots. They vibrated around the front of the stage while the bands played like those 1970's vibrating football games, except here, the goal is a shot of alcohol so everyone wins! (except your liver who loses, but he's been so arrogant ever since someone kicked you in the kidneys in a mosh pit). They sounded a lot like the stuff on TITD CD's that I don't like. You know the tracks that out of the box make your face do that first whiffs of a fart look. Unforunately for you, these are the tracks that get stuck in your head. Im assuming the taipan CD will be like that too. Hard to first listen to, but then impossible to resist. At least there is no nicotine in it. |
This is what I was thinking the whole show...
Today is The Day was sooo good. I really wasnt expecting to be as into it as i was. |
christine: what a weird band. They had parts that were really sweet and the girl singer sounded like the rainer maria singer, but then they would cut in to heavy southern influenced metal. For sure my first time seeing them, but I hope not the last. Check out the mp3s on their myspace those sort of show the spread of what they do.
defcon4: they took as long to set up than they did to play. Extremely short set. Mostly due to a problem with robin's equipment. Once they did get going, people in the audience got all worked up. Beer cups flying at them.
today is the day: awesome set. Sure derek roddy had only a limited amount of time playing with the band ever and this was basically their first live set together. Always good to start the tour with. There was a small amount of hesitation between a couple of the tracks. Still that dude is a machine and a quick study so it really didn't matter. Watching the group dynamic on stage is always interesting with titd. Steve Austin always comes across on stage as if he's (n the verge of an emotional breakdown. Moments of intense screaming, fevered playing, and then it all crashes down on the stage. They end up on the stage punching their instruments.there was one encore and then a long jam session between chris and derek. |

Chris the bassist of Today Is The Day has one of the best Swans t-shirts ever. |
