To The Worcester State College Community:
This evening Worcester State College Police received information from the FBI concerning a possible threat to a college campus in the Worcester and/or Providence area. Other colleges in the City of Worcester have received this warning. Federal agents could not provide specific information regarding the targeted campus or timeframe associated with the threat.
At this time law enforcement agencies have not been able to verify the threat. However in light of the Virginia Tech tragedy, the Administration and College Police have taken measures to respond to the threat. We are receiving assistance from the Worcester Police Department and State Police while we gather additional information on the validity of this threat. We are asking all members of the campus community to be alert and aware of your surroundings. Please report any suspicious persons or activities to College Police immediately at 508.929.8044.
Although we cannot confirm this threat, we have chosen to err on the side of caution. We are doing everything within our power to provide a safe environment. We will provide additional information about this situation when it becomes available.

does that mean that the school wouldn't have done anything if that hadn't taken place such a short time ago?
