I was adjusting something in my car and blew by a cop in aditch going 80-ish. I watched him and saw his brakelights go on. then slowly pull out and drive along the highway with no lights on until he was almost right behind me. then he pulled over the car 2 behind me. phew..

Was the guy 2 cars behind you actually speeding?

Something similar happened to me once. I went past a cop speeding, and I immediately (but not too awkwardly) got in the right lane in front of some more cars. The cop came after me but wasn't in a very good position to get directly behind me and turn his lights on, so he pulled over someone else that wasn't even really doing anything wrong.
