man.. I'm watching the making of starwars on the history channel. I totally forgot how cool that movie was when I was a little kid. I wasn't even 2 when it came out, but I remember when it was re-released when I was 4 or 5.

Star Wars was my first movie ever and I got to see it in the theatre. My parents are the coolest for bring me to see it then, so I brought my dad to Revenge of the Sith as payment! Seth/Hekseri
Just watched my newer DVD version of ruturn of the Jedi... When the fuck did they replace old anakin with new (young) anakin at the end of the movie? This was blasphemy!!! Bring back the old ewok song or gtfo!

you must purge the knowledge of the re-hashed versions existence from your brain before it's too late. i will not under any circumstances watch them. they add absolutely nothing, and take away so much. i don't even like owning the originals on DVD, VHS is the only way to watch them, but i don't have a functioning VCR so i gave in and bought the "special editions" that have the laserdisc transfers of the unmolested versions.
yeti, well I knew the ewok song changed, etc.. But had no idea they put Hayden Christensen's "ghost" in, standing next to Yoda an Obi Wan. That's fucking blasphemy. Horrible idea.
I literally stood up and screamed at the screen in the theater when the re-releases came out and they cut that song to make time for the shitty Coruscant flyover (which makes no goddamn sense considering the Empire would still be running fucking Coruscant).
Salacious Crumb is the best character in all of StarWars.

So lemme get this straight:
I know the rereleases in the theater; they came out right before The Phantom Fuckwad a a promotional tool.
But sometime after The Revenge of the Sith (which came out not even that long ago), they rereleased the version of the rerelease, but added Hayden at the end? That's bullshit. No disclaimer, no nothing.
Why would they rerelease the rerelease just to edit out the older Anakin and replace it with Hayden Douchebagsen?
That is the dumbest thing Lucas ever did.
George, I am disappoint.

DUH, any fool knows that the New Republic didn't reconquer Coruscant until about 3 years after the Battle of Endor when Rouge Squadron engaged in a covert operation to bring down the shield generators and major Skyhooks that were defending the planet.
Then they lost it to Thrawn, to the cloned Emperor and the Yuuz'han Vong. Clearly common knowledge.

ths thread is so false. Writing Star Wars as one word ie starwars is thr biggest n00b faux SW fan mistake ever.
No sir. When they rereleased 'em in the theater way back when, I made an honest attempt to catch up to the rest of my peers and see what the goddamn fuss is about and I fell asleep not even ten minutes in. It's just not meant to be, brah.
Excusing Lucas continually screwing up the franchise, Star Wars is appreshed because it got me into scifi when I was 4, it's responsible for a number of awesome video games and books, and Episode 5 is one of the best movies ever. It was also healthy competition for Star Trek.
they put Hayden Christensen's "ghost" in, standing next to Yoda an Obi Wan.
Wait, what? How is it I never noticed that? I'm watching it now... why screw with something that is already so widely loved and respected? Gaaaaaahhhhhh!
^^^What he said. But strangely enough, I've probably watched Episode IV more times than I've ever seen any other movie since (possibly excluding Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade which ranks in at a very close second). I watched it on Betamax tape every single time I ever stayed home sick from preschool through high school.
Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade which ranks in at first.
haha fixd.
"Genius of the restoration, aid our own resuscitation!" Sadly, me and a group of nerd friends in my town actually do that jig when we see eachother.

hahahahahaha beta, awesome. Last Crusade is also on my list of most watched movies ever. though with Star Wars it goes to Return of the Jedi, when i was a kid that was my favorite one so i watched it CONSTANTLY. now that i'm older i have to agree that Empire Strikes Back is the best.
