thank you carina! she found a good deal and saved me at least $50!
I'm reorganizing my work hovel to put things in a nice order. this would be a lot easier if my personal laptop didn't have a broken screen. |
|
does your house look like a KGB operations center? |
|
you want me to take a picture of it? I will have to clean up first.
from left to right,
14" laptop->24" LCD dell
46" TV
12.1" laptop->19" LCD |

Did you get the 2407WFP? I fucking love the thing. It's fucking amazing for games movies, too.
The only bad thing is that you're going to spoil yourself. Using a laptop with the limited resolution now is going to be like walking around outside with a scuba mask on. You're going to miss the extra view you get when you're using other displays.
Oh yeah, check out Google Earth with that monitor, too. It's great. |
|
my work laptop is 3 years out and the LCD is fading out.. it's like having one screen that is a bright beautiful day and one that is a grey rainy day. |
|
plus the 24" is so bright, it's eye-burning unless you turn it down to 23% brightness |
|
Really? I found that I didn't even need to calibrate mine. It was good right out of the box. Do you have it hooked up via DVI? When hooked up to DVI it does all sorts of automatic shit that dosn't happen over VGA for some reason. |
|
....plus I heard that Gateway smooshes babies. |
|
the VGA did things too.
I don't have DVI on my laptops.
hm.. wonder if that gateway's got DVI.. |
|
The laptop? If it does, $50 says they don't make a Vista driver for it in two months.
And as for gateway displays... the dugginator has a 20" Gateway monitor. He can't get it higher than 1024x768 on any machine. It's widescreen, too. |
|
googlemaps on my work laptop does this :(
it flips out completely. the maps show up on ALL programs in an overlay... and uses 100% of the CPU! |

Yes. We're designing ZOGRAD (to replaced NORAD, decomissioned last month) and we need some tips for how to do it, on the cheap of course.
