New site? Maybe some day.

most WMA's sound shittier than mp3s.
I'm thinking about starting to record some AAC's.
anyone?
I use cd ex right now to rip things, but I was thinking of just letting iTunes rip my CDs. my little lappy takes like 15+ minutes to rip a CD. |
|
I was told that WAV's are the best thing to burn onto CDs. But the person that told me that was polish, so it's probably completely incorrect. |
|
yeah, but 1 WAV = 12 mp3s.
with waves, the only thing you lose it to digital compression. this is called loss-less.
mp3s, aacs, minidiscs and others are called lossy compression cause you loose a lot of the data through encoding. |
|
AAC is technically 'lossless' meaning any loss through compression is usually in frequencies not audible by human ears.
all my mp3's are ripped @ 192k or better.
Don't use WMA, because wma's quality sucks, even on the highest settings, and I believe M$FT adds DRM bits to the files (of course they'd probably deny this).
so mp3 and aac are your two choices, both of which your iPod supports natively, so the choice is yours. |
|
ok, so you guys are down with mp3 and AAC...but are you down with O.P.P.? (yeah, you know me!) |
