ok a problem has come up with this show. As of now the only bands booked are my own and Sacreligion. My apologies to the other bands I will message you all right away.

yeah Sacreligion and Revocation are currently the only bands confirmed. Godless Rising will not be playing, because the guy who runs the club says he wont have them there ever again. I dont know the circumstances behind that. Sorry to the dudes in GR, but there's nothing I can do about that.
I am going to try to convince Bill to keep Goreality and Deconformity on the bill. He is a little upset right now and wants to rebook the whole date (keeping Revocation and Sacreligion). If anyone would like to reach me you can call me Im not sure Ill have the time to email the bands until tomorrow night.

I was told that the guy who booked that G.R. show took off with the money from the door and did not pay the bands anything, so jeff asked the bar tenders to give the bands gas money..I don't know if the guy from this club is new to the metal scene? but there already enuff people who rip bands off around here....we don't care about getting paid but the dude needs to realize that we aren't stupid...that is all.
bill doomus used to book bands back in the day in worcester at this place called mulligan's...every show had a keg in the back for the bands and was pretty much a huge party
with this new place however he has a larger overhead, paying for security and the sound guy...not leaving much to pay the bands with, so the pay is based off of draw(if you draw at least 10 people or so you get a few bucks per head, they do the whole checklist thing, asking who the people are there to see at the door)
i'm not claiming to know the whole situation or anything, i'm just stating the facts involving getting paid at that place
for all i know they could've kicked each other in the balls and called it a night

i dunno the circumstances of what went on but Bill Doomus is being reasonable about this and agreeing to keep the bill intact. He will even have GR play they just need to call him.
rt. 290 is the highway that runs through downtown worcester, if you follow it west from worcester it becomes 395 which you follow for another 10 minutes
Oxford is the hick bastard child of Worcester. it was the "rival" town of Auburn where i grew up. they didnt like us because we are advanced, and we didnt like them because they are hicks. you arent missing anything, the only redeeming thing for Oxford is Rox's, otherwise its a useless town. funny story, someone from my family owned a company called Chaffee Lumber in Oxford, and on grand opening day it burned to the ground.

Im just happy this lineup has not been dismantled. If GR play that would be great, but they need to call Bill at the club and talk to him if they're going to play.

Who cares if there are five people, as long as they play real metal that they are happy with. Not every band is going to draw 6 billion trendies of the week. Metal has long been oversaturated, ever since the late 90s when everyone started to like it again (and a bunch of new people started to like it for the first time), not every band will be able to draw a large crowd, and that has no bearing on quality.
'Poseurs' are people who care about popularity, like you.
Obviously Godless Rising is not about getting paid, or they would be playing trendy Sounds of the Underground/Ozzfest metal. Gas money is gas money, it's breaking even, not turning a profit.
They also haven't failed, they just got signed to a decent label.
I just spoke with doomus, goreality is all set. that is all.

the lineup is still playing so long as Goreality and Deconformity called and verbally confirmed with Bill. I sent them his number yesterday. Guys if you havent called please do as soon as you can. He has a policy of personally making a verbal confirmation with all the bands that play his club.
As for GR, they need to call Bill and talk things out with him if they are going to play. I have been told that they're on tour. Someone should get in touch with them and have them call from a cell phone. DECONFORMITY is all set! If I get word that GR is all set too, then the show will remain exactly how I originally booked it. Either way, it's gonna be fucking sick.
All of you people should support this show so that Rox's gets the message that death metal brings people to the bar and more underground shows can be done at this place.
I don't think G.R. is going to do this now. I will leave it at that, cause I don't want shit talkers to have some thing to get happy about. I will explain at a later date...just try to get another band

Sacreligion, Goreality, and Godless Rising have dropped off. That leaves Revocation and Deconformity. And the club is sketchy and people are talking about boycotting it. Something tells me this show should just be scrapped... I'll have to book another death metal show with these bands at a venue that doesn't suck.
Anthony, Check into London Billards (on the Worcester/Auburn line). They are very close to starting shows there. You may beable to gat a date. Mike of the Sac should know how to get in touch with the guy that does the booking.
The Atrium wants like $800 or something like that. The QVCC is a valiant idea but I think it's too short of a notice.
VFWs are the way to go if you can find one around here that will still host one(in looking to do a show about 2 months ago I called virtually every single hall in Worcester county and none of them wanted to do it.)
I'll see what I can do about getting that show into London Billiards though. They're 95% done with the construction, and the PA is installed now I think. We might be able to get one show in there...but we'd have to make sure a lot of people attend, which might be doable since Deconformity has a younger crowd and we can get like 30+ people to an 18+ show in Worcester on a good night. I'll ask, but I make no promises.

well that's why you bring your own people in, although the same problem lies in the fact that most bands are not from around here.
Get Zircon on it though and that'd boost the draw a lot.

im not planning on getting another show together with this lineup on this date. if someone else wants to do that, then more power to them. i think it's too last minute to promote it properly, for a show with all local bands.
I will try to re-book this lineup at another venue on a future date, not necessarily in the Worcester area.
