I'm here now... the place is pretty empty. what gives? |
screams of erida: they only played a few tracks. I think two of them were new. The rest were the "old favorites". Lee's voice was the same, if not higher, on the new tracks they did live. Mike played well with them. I think he might have been a little too loud, but that's it. They got the first band treatment and no one danced for them.
everyday hate: really short set, but not bad at all. they played a bunch of songs, but the songs were all fairly short themselves. A few people ran around the pit punching people for them. for a band that I've never heard or heard of, they were pretty good and sounded fairly tight. |
Can’t Stand Losing: they were 1 guitarist down. I forget who it was that played with them. Their set instantly sent people running around the room. This was the first time tonight that the firedoor was knocked open. They even had a circle pit.
Shere Khan : they fought over who would don the shere khan tiger outfit. I guess it had been left in the rain. then, they refused to play until brophy stumbled up. When they started playing, you could feel people slamming together. SK has a very loyal following of people who sing along and punch people for their entire set. That's basically what it was all about. |
in our blood: this show was their CD release party. Of course this is all the same people that has seen them on the majority of roman's shows so they all know the songs. it was actually cool to see all the people moving for them. They too played a short set. |
just in, pictures in a few minutes. |
Did Unearth actually create a different setlist for once? |
it was like all the usual songs off the last CD and then 3 new songs. |
unearth: this is sort of their first show out after recording the new CD. Even though it was said that they were only playing new songs, they only played 3 new songs. Somehow people were singing along to them. I have a feeling they were just saying "rarararararara" or something. this show is sandwiched right between the recording and ozzfest. The other songs were ones off the last CD. their set was seriously fun. No bullshit talkers complaining about them selling out or whatever. This was just like unearth circa 2000 where they could play small clubs and just enjoy themselves. |
unearth was stellar last night. new tracks were great. awesome set... i don't think we'll ever see them in that kind of setting again! |
I saw them in a small place last year too. hatebreed and kse also play small secret shows once every few years. I'm sure they will do something like this again. maybe next year. |
damn i wanted and could of but i'm scared of the venue.... only heard bad things from friends.. |
the venues not bad if you dont look anyone directly in the eyes. |
Roman's is fine.
with no more or less bull shit then anywhere else.
Everyone knows not to pick a fight at roman's because none of the kids there want their venue shut down. |
like chris said last night after the one fight "everyone knows, here, you fight and you don't get kicked out. you get knocked out." |
I've also heard "If a fight goes down, both parties involved will lose".
Aaron, I didn't even see you there last night. |
you were probably too busy servicing people. I was mostly beside the soundboard with my face in my cell typing. |
