Leaves' Eyes are opening? Nice...got a bargaining chip to go now. My girlfriend hates Blind Guardian, but she won't pass up another chance to see Leaves' Eyes.
Actually "The Bard Song" was my least favorite the last time they played Worcester. I guess if you like cheesy, take-out-your-lighter moments. Otherwise, they were fucking unbelievable.

i wanna sing along to Mirror, Mirror. I hope they play it, that song is fucking awesome.
No way in fucking hell am I missing Blind Gaurdian. One of my favorite bands, and to be able to hear "Mirror, Mirror" live will be amazing. Can't wait.
I see planets dying
I fall into the light
a new universe awakens
I'm a Traveler in Time
Pray for the light
Where's the key
To the gate
of a new life - no
I search for deliverance
But I cannot fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind
I've been waiting
For signs of god
Create - enslave - behaved -
Everything is out of control
Leave me alone
Isolation bears hope
There's something else waiting
A promised destiny
Freezing me
I feel restless and low
These days full of sadness
How joyfully changed
Into fear
My freakshow will start tonight
Don't miss the right time
Bright eyes
Blinded by fear of life
No Merlin is by my side
Everything is out of control
Everything is out of control
In my future plans
Everything is out of control
Noone's left to hurt
Everything is out of control
Sorrow's gone away
Broken memories
Walking upstairs
Step by step
I see the whole world burning
The poet dies in Newerland
How it burns
Hey, mother stubborn
I really hate you
If you say yes I will say no
Ashes to ashes
But dust won't be dust
If you go there
I will go back
Bright eyes
Blinded by fear of life
Betrayed by sunrise
Bright eyes
Blinded by fear of life
No Merlin is by my side
Hey, father stubborn
You're ying
And I'm young
I feel alone
Who really cares
Born into ashes
To lose all the games
With a smiling face
Bright eyes
Blinded by fear of life
And the dark dragons rise
Bright eyes
Blinded by fear of life
No Merlin is by my side
So I sit still in my room, today
Winter's here
In summer season
Shall I say
I was wrong
If I'm right
Farewell to my last hope
I've been waiting
For signs of god
Create - enslave - behaved -
Everything is out of control
Leave me alone
Isolation bears hope

the acoustic version is so much better, the song can almost bring a man to pure emotional cumming
I'm gonna be there. When I saw them last time they came to the Palladium it was unbelievable. BG are so much fun live. Everybody sang along, all the guys played great. I never seen so many cheery looking metalheads.
I will do that, im thinking it should be something instrumental though, with more emphasis on portal-style mellow parts.
hooray for derailing threads!
and now to get it back on topic:
There are signs on the ring
which make me feel so down
there's one to enslave all rings
to find them all in time
and drive them into darkness
forever they'll be bound
Three for the Kings
of the elves high in light
nine to the mortal
which cry
[solo: Markus]
[Ref:] Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill
and there's no way out
Mordor
dark land under Sauron's spell
threatened a long time
threatened a long time
Seven rings to the gnomes
in their halls made of stone
into the valley
I feel down
One ring for the dark lord's hand
sitting on his throne
in the land so dark
where I've to go
[solo: Markus]
[Ref:] Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill
Lord of the rings
So let me out of it
Out of the cold
To bring back light and hope for all
And so if I could get you in
Just for a little while
Into the songs of sorrow
You might understand
Where am I now
Beyond the dawn
(Where) hope's turned to dust
At all
Immortal love's
Fooled by the hands of doom
That love means death
I realized too soon
[chorus:]
Caught in the afterlife
I've gone too far
When sorrow sang softly and sweet
The air was filled with tears
Full of sadness and grief
When sorrow sang softly and sweet
I feel like screaming
But I can't breath in
Shall I wane right now
I will not leave this
World of living
Till she has said
Goodbye
Out in the cold
I still wait for her call
And her last kiss
It shall be release
I can't forget her
Her face will not leave
From the depths of my soul
I long for her
So I heard all about it
Her voice's so clear
She's woven both themes in there
Moved me to tears
The world shall hear this sad song
Song of sorrow song of grief
Can't change the way of his kind
Can't change the way of her kind
Seriously. I say this with out shame. I need a ride. Help?
My gf told me that at the show in San Diego Blind Guardian took the stage pretty early and only played for about 1.5 hours, so it might not be an issue taking the commuter rail back to Boston.

Ugh! NO CARE EVER! That fucking show is going to bear more than a passing resemblence to a Promise Keepers convention with all the CAREER VIRGINS in the crowd. I couldn't get fucked up enough to enjoy myself when my friend dragged me to see Blind Guardian at the Palladium.
come on, the Guardians are fun....though I've gotta figure out some kind of way to go into suspended animation for Leaves' Eyes' set. I lived in Europe for a year and have no idea how even European metalheads (the ones who support HammerFall, etc) like them, let alone what they're doing opening a tour this (relatively) big in North America.

I think I'll be returning some videos that night. NOPE - won't be there.
They have a lot of slow, boring songs on their second album, first one, and the new ep is good...maybe I just need to listen to the whol album through.
she sounds far to much like one of those enya type singers though
I'd go to that show for the sole purpose of threatening the well-being of all members of Leaves' Eyes who were in Atrocity to play Longing For Death start-to-finish. I'll help out with the leads if they forgot.

Yeah, last time they came to Ma. they finished kinda early. I made to the train(ran like hell) but made to to boson only to miss the last train (subway).
This time I have work at 10am the next day. and I don't feel like sleeping on a bench or spending $$$ on a cab.

Shit... yeah the last train doesn't make it back until after the subway stops running, I forgot about that. Nothing like adding an extra $25 cab fare to a $25 ticket price... Anybody leaving from the Boston area for this?
leaves eyes: I was wondering where the electronics/synths were coming from from, but then I saw that the drummer was using an electronic kit. It was cool that I could shoot their whole set, but I was mad about the no flash rule. Anyhow, they put on a really good and tight set. I was really surprised that the guy from atrocity came out (looks like he lost weight too). Honestly, I wasn't expecting that at all. Since I'm a fan of atrocity (and not much for LE), I was happier. He adds a heavier element and ands a lot to the stage presense. They played some songs I knew off the disc(s) I have... Which songs? Look at the set list. It's awesome to see a young crowd like this getting into a band with such old school roots.
I don't know where DIE was, but it's more that 25' away cause I didn't feel any spray.
blind guardians set list:
into the storm
mourning hall
nightfall
requiem
fly
bright eyes
valhalla
time stands still
punishment
skaids & shadows
this will never end
silence
imaginations
bard song
mirror outro

They played And Then There Was Silence? God damn do I wish I coulda stayed for that.
And the guy from Atrocity does vocals on like half the songs. He IS married to Liv, after all. And basically the whole band short of Liv is/was in Atrocity (And Liv does some vocals with them too)
the #1 most handie thing after the show? the joe christianni random fact generator. btw I heard he missed the show cause he got wrapped up watching a movie on lifetime.
Yeah, Leave's Eyes were pretty bad. Every song followed the same goddamn structure and their writing isn't very interesting. All in all they seem to just be a much less interesting Nightwish. But, I mean, it was ok for a little even though I don't like it, as I can usually enjoy nearly any band live for a little even if I don't like them, but when they were saying it was their last song for 4 songs in a row, that sucked.
Blind Guardian... wow, I don't know what I can even say. It was amazing finally seeing them live, and the set was amazing. I've never seen an audience so spent only halfway through a show. It was like, halfway through the audience had such a small amount of strength left that the majority of the people were using all their remaining energy just to scream and sing and as far as movement was concerned it was like jello just jiggling back in forth. I don't understand how I could still make noises with my throat at all by the end, 'cause I pretty much lost my voice 2 or 3 times, hahaha. Amazing.
I am pissed I missed Leave's Eyes, I was gonna take pictures of them. Rev, is it the Palladium or the bands that are gay about flash? That's so fucking stupid.
I am also pissed I missed pizza and beer.
However Guardian was killer. The Bard Song sing-a-long wasn't as epic as I'd hoped, though.
I honestly really wasn't getting into Blind Guardian...their new drummer annoys the fuck out of me. And I'm not crazy about their new songs either. I still would've liked And Then There Was Silence, though, just for the sake of hearing the song live, even with the shitty-ass drummer.

i dont know i loved the guardian set......and the joe christianni random facts generator session out side was fun as well
blind guardian: wow... First off there were no amps on the stage at all. They just had a white sheet down behind then on which they showed movies. At the set went on, the colors of the movie got better and better. The next wow is the fact that that vocal... the blind guardian's singer ran right out and was in your face. Let me tell you, you could feel his vocie right in front. there were plenty of crowd surfers but they would be almost off the crowd and someone in the front row pulled off so many sneakers. That was pretty awesome. I hope whom ever did that posts here. Hilarious. the crowd surfers didn't seem to find it to be too awesome. When they got down the would just up like "WTF" at the crowd. About 5-ish songs into the set, they played FLY and so many people sang along. Looks liek someone bought the single! eh, that's not fair. The entire place was singing along to every song. I music admit, I only know:
mourning hall
fly
bright eyes
sillence
bard song
requiem
and I sort of knew valhalla.
Oh and when time stands still.
I waited around until bard song was played. but then headed towards the back door as they played it to capture all the lighters. Great show.
the JC session outback was A++.

the guy pulling off sneakers was Ryan Davison from Endless Ruin. messing with people is kind of one of his hobbies.

That's Bobby Dolan, the next rev, and my fellow red headed metal brethern. We gave him a ride back to cambridge, the whole way throwing century media samplers at pedestrians (my friend is on the street team) and singing 80's songs.

That still doesn't explain why he's molesting that kid with a sly smile on his face.
I'd heartily disagree. Check out the last 2 albums. I'd say PM is the most original power/progressive metal band to come around in quite a while. I will say that the original recording of the first record was boring, but even the remix of that is pretty awesome.
