out of curiosity....why a baritone?

a baratone, because we tune to B, and it's fucking torture on a standard scale guitar to be tuned that low (i.e. crap for string tension etc., also dosen't help that I'm using an I-BEEN-HAD)

that comp is being built so I can get back into hardcore gaming & 3d modeling again.

what gauge strings do you use?
Throw 11's on that axe, and your tension probs will vanish.
Of course you have to re-set the spring tension.

I'm getting a locking kit for my Floyd Rose, that will help with spring tension. 11's are too heavy for me, I can use a set of 10's with a really heavy bottom before I run into problems. I'm a light player, so 11's tend to be too heavy for the stuff I do.

no, I don't believe so. I think they just use standard strings, but because the scale is longer (i.e 27" not 25.5") the tension problems work themselves out

i have 013's on all my guitars tuned to B flat to B flat

B standard tuning is: B-E-A-D-F#-B
Bb standard should be: Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-F-Bb

13's are friggin ape strings!!!...how the hell do you play leads on them?
well...I guess Bb is low enough to let em flub a lil. Still tho...wow.

as long as the G string isn't wound it probably wouldn't be a huge deal.

I still prefer 11's tuned B-E-A-D-F#-B.

you have to buy baritone strings because the length of the strings are longer.
and it's a pain in the ASS cause guitar center never has them

i used to use 14s when i did aganihm. its alot like learning to play guitar all over again.

i bought an mxr zack wilde pedal for more gain. it sounds pretty badass.

argh, I'm pretty good at setting up floyds since I've had to deal with them since 7th grade. For recording though, I'm gonna pay the local tech to setup both of my guitars to B and make sure they are intonated perfectly.

yeah, intonation... I definately need a setup on my guitar. it's close, but not perfect right now.

ya...intonation on floyds sucks to do, but theres a tool out specifically for it. You can get it thru stu-mac, but I forget what they call it.
But it makes it so you dont havta undo the string, every adjustment you make.
Then all you need is a good tuner, and patience.

I played an sg a couple of weeks ago....and I'm so used to the floyd it actually felt weird to play a regular stop tailpeice.

I like the way LP's sound, but I'm not comfortable playing them, and they don't down tune well, becaus eof the dovetail joint on the neck, if the tension isn't perfect, the neck can shift and cause problems :(

i bought a used peavey ultra 60 head for cheap. sounds so good. so heavy. i saw backstabbers inc and they had two of these.

ya I used to have 2 pv 60/60 classic tube power amps.
The first one was stolen by an ex-landlord and the 2nd one was demolished by my bassist spilling fog juice all inside of it.
I loved those. But now that I have my mesa....never going back.

Hey perilsoreasoning: i tried a used peavey ultra 60 out the other day with a marshall 4x12 cab. i thought it sounded good for the money. i'm a poor folk so i don't get to spend much cash on fun stuff. wasn't able to really crank it because i was in a store. can this thing handle a 4x12 cab cranked?

yup. used the head to power two cabs before. one of my guitarists uses my peavey head when we play out. my other guitarist uses a mesa single rect.

they get a good review on here....its only 60 w head, but it probably doubles in 4ohm mode. which it has 4/8/16ohm switch , which is cool.
