New site? Maybe some day.

i'm poor. don't want to spend more than $800.00 all together. anybody have any good suggestions in that price range? |
|
if you will settle for a solid state amp (hey, dimebag darrell preferred 'em), that should do it
just make sure you get at least 100-120 watt head
DO NOT BUY A FUCKING COMBO AMP |

cheap (but not too shitty) heads:
line 6 spider II (400 new)
ibanez tb100 head (300 new)
my number one pick for best cheap head though would definetly have to be the carvin sx-300 head:
3 fully independent channels each with their own 3 band eqs. fantastically versatile for only 300 bucks.
cheap cabs:
carvin legacy 412 (500)
any behringer 412 (200-250)
in my opinion you should go for the carvin sx-300 head, and the carvin legacy cab. that way you get an extremely versatile head that covers high gain sounds along with super cleans, and with the legacy cab (loaded with celestion vintage 30s) will provide you with some of the best sound reproduction possible. both of these will run you 800 together. |

cool. the carvin looks like something i'd be interested in. what about used stuff? probably not the way to go? |
|
zvex makes some wonderful boutique products, i tell you what tom.
boots, used stuff is fine, i didnt know how you felt about that stuff. itll be somewhat difficult to find some of that carvin stuff used though, they only deal factory direct. |

i've always had good luck w/used gear at Daddy's
http://www.daddys.com
scroll to bottom right, click on used gear, they list heads and cabs |
|
i know at the moment daddys has a used spider II head for 350 and a crate bv412sv cab (with vintage 30s) for 350. at least that was in the recent used gear inventory. |
