Bad Taste signs Quit Your Dayjob
One of the most interesting bands that have emerged from the Swedish music scene in a long, long time recently found a new home. Quit Your Dayjob is a three-piece from Malmö that released their debut mini album here in Sweden through the Stockholm based record label I Made This earlier this summer. This incredible 8-track CD will be re-released through Bad Taste Records worldwide this fall.
Quit Your Dayjob is the first Swedish band we've signed since we signed Logh three years ago and similar to when we picked up Logh it feels really, really good to be able to work with yet another Swedish band that really stands out, even in an international perspective.
Here's one way to describe their music...
Quit Your Dayjob is the nerd you were in school, broke and on bad acid. The three freaks from Malmö have been performing music for the average man since 2001 and after a classic 7" on the Rocket Number 9 label their self-titled minialbum first saw the light of day during early summer 2004. It will be reissued through Bad Taste on October 25:th and for the first time distributed beyond the borders of Sweden.
With a twangy guitar, a synthesizer way past its due date and snotty drums sounding like the B-52's on 45 rpm; the record makes The Cramps sound like Devo in a wheelchair.

On Thursday September 30:th, Quit Your Dayjob are playing a Pop Komm showcase at Pfefferbank in Berlin (Germany). If you can make it to the show, we can assure you that you're in for a real treat!! QYD is an incredible live band and they have played several of the biggest Swedish festivals already. Similar to Danko Jones (who by the way are big fans of QYD) they will be touring relentlessly to support the upcoming release.
