I just started doing it recently. I've only built 2 so far. One is just a basic clean boost, the other is a 3 transistor Tone Bender Fuzz clone (think Jimmy Page fuzz sound). I buy the kits from Build Your Own Clone. Both came out great and were pretty easy to build, once I got the hang of soldering. It's fun, save for the point-to-point wiring. That's kind of a pain in the ass. As I get better at it, I hope to start building/modifying pedals for other people.
