#1 ON THE HEATSEEKERS, #16 ON INDEPENDENT CHART
DARKEST HOUR’s crushing new album, The Eternal Return, debuted at #104 this week on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and landed at the #1 position on the Heatseekers chart as well as #16 on the Independent chart! The Eternal Return scored the band’s highest chart position of their career and moved over 4800 units in its first week. The band’s previous release, 2007’s Deliver Us, reached #110.
Guitarist Mike Schleibaum commented on the album’s chart position: “We really appreciate everyone that went out and bought our new CD the first week it was released. This is the highest we’ve ever charted on Billboard! We are also really excited about all of the contest winners. Make sure to come hang out with us at this year’s Summer Slaughter Tour, you can find us barbecuing in the parking lot.”
The success of The Eternal Return caps off what has been a phenomenal summer for the band. DARKEST HOUR is currently on the Summer Slaughter tour, tearing up stages across the country, and the band has also given out TONS of prizes in their “Eternal Giveaway” contest, and there are still several prizes available. The Eternal Return, released June 23, on Victory Records, is DARKEST HOUR’s sixth full-length album. The band tapped producer Brian McTernan (Senses Fail, Thrice, From Autumn to Ashes) and recorded at his Baltimore, MD-based Salad Days Studio.
