Whoa, quite a bit has happened in my absence. Thanks for the offer, Dana. We have have found someone to play these shows/possibly continue on with us as a permanent member. I will certainly keep you in mind in the future if we need a fill in, I know you're a good bassist.

As far as fingers vs. pick, I offer the following: While I'm generally more impressed with bassists that use their fingers and have previously considered the bass to be meant as a finger picked instrument, my original post saying that we're looking for a dedicated, technically competent bass player does not specify finger picking or using a pick. I expect the new bassist to NOT play what Sean played. He wrote some pretty nasty bass lines, most notably in Cirque de Macabre and Ode to the Sleep Machines, but I expect the next bass player to have a different perspective and therefore write different bass lines. Sean wrote the lyrics for Of Gravity and Decay, and I will be writing new lyrics before we play that song live again/record the track.

In response to Aril, I don't agree that we have more of a death metal aesthetic, while I do realize you've basically only heard that 4 song demo. While we most certainly have elements of death metal in our tunes, I've always approached writing from a black metal foundation then expanding into other styles. A lot of our stuff, as most of you are familiar, really isn't even to be considered black metal. Brendan from OT and I have discussed this and he's dubbed us "weird metal." I'm strangely comfortable with that.

We're pumped about all the support we've received from you guys and look forward to playing our new material for you. We're continuing to find our sound with each new song we write and we think you'll enjoy them.

In closing, as previously stated, we may have found someone to step in to play bass for us but I'd like to keep auditions open a little longer for the sake of healthy competition. Hit me up if you're interested in coming down!

Thanks, everybody!
