Neither is particularly loud IMO, but they sound great and both have been used on Black Pyramid recordings extensively. I think it depends on how loud the rest of your band is, and how loud you want to be. I'm competing with huge drums and a 350 watt tube bass rig, so 15 or 30 watts ain't gonna cut it. Besides, to really get chunky on the low end, I like the extra wattage of a 100+ watt tube amp to move some air.
