I think metal kids didn't go to shows because there was hardcore bands on the bill who would start lashing out at everyone and it wasn't really worth their time if thats how it was going to be, especially if it was local bands they didn't really know. The metal show I remember Mark Richards put together was chock full of hardcore bands, which alot of other shows seemed to have been like. I don't see the point of adding hardcore bands just to help bolster the metal scene and I think the hardwork I have done over the past 3 years is finally paying off, and not to take all the credit because I really credit Prophetless productions for paving the way for a metal scene in Boston. Anyone who was at the last 2 Block shows and the Bostons' Dead series that have been going on can tell you that whoever thinks metal heads are lazy is wrong. The shows are doing great in Boston. As far as other areas go, I can't really comment because I haven't done a whole lot outside of Boston in over a year, but now that a scene is growing I bet people would travel to see bands they like if they know its going on, and now that they know stuff is going on they will probably keep their eyes peeled. My site has been getting more and more hits each month and I don't know if that has anything to do with more people coming to shows, but sales are up, show attendance is up, more people are hitting my site and the other metal sites and I get tons of people downloading mp3s off Notcommon
