I wouldn't necessarily say that is true all the time. There are some women that still post here and are treated as equals, though it certainly has dwindled. To some degree, you are right. This forum is mostly a sausage fest; always has been. There were a few bad apples with women posters over the years that ultimately laid the foundation for the ongoing harassment on this forum.
Personally, I welcome the women posters. My gf used to post here and never got shat on. She wasn't alone on that aspect- I would assume you would be as well? I've never seen someone badmouth you.

The bottom line is, this forum as a whole is a general representation of the male psyche: misogyny, sex, drugs, and the grotesque. For the most part, those have always been prevalent in the metal subculture..
