network, the: great balance of craziness and awesomeness. they went ape-brains on the stage, but (besides the interruption that left only scott and tim playing and everyone else scrambling to fix things) they kept it together 100%. I admit, I've been listening to the CD a lot so I find myself singing along more and more with the spazmodic craziness that is their live set. they turned the house lights down low and used some red or orange lights in the back (rumored to have caught something on fire!). I tried my hardest not to flash you guys in the eyes and blind. I'm sorry if I did. their last song had someone come out on the spare mic. I'm not sure who these people are. but they joined up with Scott. Scott's voice sounded exceptional at this show. it's been sounding kind of thinner lately (DBH), but something about this set put the bottom back in his vocals.

psyopus: the new and improved arpman played the hits from the 70's that the crowd was yelling for. For their sound check chris and john played a long instrumental. These two play REALLY well with each other and I'm sure could have and do jam out for hours and hours. Anyhow, put a guitar in that chris's hands and he just won't stop playing. ever. he is a machine. it's like he's got guitar ADHD. he'll play an entire set and still try to show you things, not wanting to put the guitar down. Their set was awesome. seeing kids getting into the new CD is a great sign that this band is well loved. Adam popped a blood vessel and bled everywhere during their set. no sock on the mic this time (oh hi blood born parasites). it took me a while, but I finally got over to the side with fred on it. if I never said this before, fred is the sole bass player that got me to pay heed to bassplayers. up until then, I just let them drift to the background noise. he brought that instrument to the foreground with the way he plays.

red chord, the: it's awsome that this show does so well in the middle of this bumpkin town. All these "small" TRC shows are nothing but good. I remember back when they played all the time at tiny places. Let the good times roll buddies! Stage left power went out for a bit. a song or so only had brad, gunface, and guy. the rest jumped up on things like monkeys or tried to fix the power. great set. people jumped around and mr fay was there. this is one of his last shows with the band. he was up on the speakers a lot. So why is john fay still in the band? the reason is simple, they are recording a new CD. that's where they are off to after this show. basically they are off to NJ to lay down a new CD before they play any more shows. it seems like clients just came out and they are already going off to do another album. I'm betting they got a lot of material at the kareoke bar in nashua during some downztime.. er.. downtime. They played 2 songs during their set that were brand new joins for y'all.
