BRUTAL NO. 2 - Sounded great, the only snag they had was Gibbs breaking a string but luckily Sacchi is enough of a drunk asshole to make the best of the situation. Felter Smelter twice was key, very noble of them to play the same song twice, I dig.
PROTEUS - Was crushing through that PA, it was definately the best I've ever heard them sound provided that the QVCC was the QVCC and Paul blew his amp in New Bedford. These cats gotta play NY sometime, I think they'd be big there.
DECONFORMITY - IMHO, I thought they took the cake on this show, they simply killed. Great to see Josh Leal on the bass at all of 16 years old, fuckin kids kills, all those kids kill. You can see how their relentless practice habits shine through. Easily one of my favorite new bands/new england bands as well. I expect big things from them.
REVOCATION - was awesome and has never failed to disappoint me, ever, except when they still havn't played muthafuckin' SNAKE STRIKE. I remember hearing a new song in there that seemed totally new to me, which is always very cool, I know it's not on the demo. This band rules, if you havn't seen them yet you gotta check em out. I always show them to people when I'm out of state, "dude, these fuckers are from Mass, you gotta check em out".
PILLORY - wooo, here comes the pain! Donde esta Daniel? The new singer sounds pretty solid, backs up his performance with some good energy and is right in your face, totally compliments them very well. Ian fuckin rules too, one of the most under-rated drummers I've seen in sometime. Naturally senor Marcos shredded up a fine cheese for the bread that is Danick's bass and we rejoiced in the feast that is Pillory. Looking forward to seeing them again soon.
Excellent show all around. I think it's clear that Mass Death Metal is a brute force that people are beginning to recognize, DEATH TO THE TRENDS.
