I dunno, bands like Agalloch and Death have awesome lyrics that I think add to the music. that they do. i dont give a crap about lyrics. listening to a genre of music because the lyrics are cool is something useless women do. genres like black metal and death metal have ridiculously undecipherable vocals, therefore negating any validity of the vocalist's superior writing abilty. i am NOT going to sit there and read along with the music from the cd booklet/online lyrics site, its not a fucking sing-a-long. i am a MUSICian, i listen to MUSIC. lyrics about the government being corrupt or how useless living is doesnt interest me, i understand this shit and none of it is new to me. vocals, to me, are extra texture. if Deicide's "Once Upon the Cross" was instead "Fuck Me Up The Ass", i would still listen to it with as much affection and admiration. calling someone "stupid" because he doesnt give a shit about lyrics is almost like calling a mathematician stupid because his spelling is slightly off. i listen to music for music, not for some reiterated garbage or some sort of superior message. books and lectures will get me to philosophize and think deeply. Music will be the ambient stimulant to my own personal enjoyment and free thinking. p.s. This is why i realllllly like Pelican
