Wow. I posted a message to carmelita just thanking her for playing a good tune sunday night, and she actually replied. She never posts there. She's actually sent me a few private messages, and I've met her in person before too.

What a cool fucking chick. Seriously, rag on the BSR messageboard all you want, but people like Carmelita (and aaron too) are few and far between. I mean, the chick listens to mostly alt-rock post-hardcore noise board type stuff, but she'll still go out of the way to check out a grindcore band or hardcore band just because someone asked her too.

I don't think enough people on this site take advantage of her. Most immediately dismiss her because of the way that messageboard comes across, but she'll listen to anything, and play anything. If you send her cd's, and email her when you've got a show coming up, she'll spin the CD that week and plug your show. There's not many "local" shows left that are willing to be that diverse, and put that much heart into helping to push the local music scene ahead.

Anyway, just wanted to give her credit. Usually people only hear about the baystate rock board over here when something BAD happens.
