upon entering this venue, I knew one thing, that the ceiling was coming down. I've been in New England long enough to know that. I also knew, 600 people with a low ceiling = 100+ degrees and 100% humidity.

cephalic carnage: this is the reason a lot fo the people I knew were going to this show. unfortunately, most of the people who were coming to the show to see them, missed them. they played all the shots (from what I remember) that they played at NEMHF. Their set started off with hybrid (I think that's what they ended with at NEMHF), but it was f'd up. they played the beginning part acouple times because the sampler was feeding back or something. their set was great, but I would have liked to have heard more off Conforming To Abnormality.. but whatever. they did play lucid interval so that was good.

zao: their set started rocky. the other mic didn't work at all and no body knew how to work the little sound board at all. but I had heard good things about their set... the first few songs SUCKED. I will admit now that I've listened to almost all of their release... I love Liberate Te Ex Inferis, Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest, and The Funeral Of God. after listening to all of their CDs and seeing them live 3 or 4 times, I will admit that I've never recognized anything from the CDs in their live set. anyhow, I'll say again, the beginning of their set sucked. after about 3 songs or so, it got much better. the last 2 songs were awesome. which completely made up for the first 1/2. when Zao's vocals hit, they are some of my favorites... when they don't (A Parade Of Chaos), it's horrible.

terror: filled with all the normal speeches that vogel gives (one about people "his age" finding cancer), but mostly filled with outbreak members rolling around on top of the crowd. I think they played the same exact set list that they played at NEMHF. the crowd was totally into the show too. one of the songs they played sounded just like some other band... but I can't remember who it was. oh well, I suck. they started the destruction of the ceiling. when the singer of a band asks you to "destroy this place", the crowd complies.

shadows fall: started off completely rocky and went both down hill and up hill after that. there were a lot of little technical difficulties that stopped the show dead over and over. the crowd went nutty, pulling down all the ceiling pannels. as they blazed through a couple songs, the ceiling panels started turning into wires and lights coming down. not even 1/2 way through their set, the show stopped. someone from the club kept yelling to shut the show down. SteveEye9 and chris muscle city shut the dude down and pushed the crowd back to stuff the wires back up in the ceiling. they they continued... only to have the power cut out a song or two later. they ended their set very low key since the near-death-by-electricution earlier in the night. after, it was great seeing brian, tara, and matt. since SF's been off and not playing as many NE shows, I dont get to see those guys much any more.
