Be CAREFUL with "paranormal investigators". I used to be quite a hit in my college dorms for my "psychic abilities." In reality, it was just my natural ability to cold read the average person. Cold reading is what you see on the sci fi channel, with that guy (I forget his name) who claims to communicate with lost loved ones and such.

In reality, it's just natural psychological aptitude combined with the ability to quickly and discreetly interpret a person's reactions, personality, and emotional disposition.

Much like astrology, there are basic personality profiles/types that a person can learn to identify pretty quickly. Once determined, these profiles can be used to give a person the impression that you can see into thier very thoughts, history, or have some other inside source for information you should otherwise not have. Guidance counselors, astrologists, business executives, and psychiatrists all use some form of personality profiling on a daily basis.
