The mind-bending cover artwork by artist Valnoir (The Black Dahlia Murder, Watain, Nachtmystium) is featured above. Described as a "nightmarish merger between black, death, d-beat, and doom" with "a compelling sense of chaos" (Pitchfork), "Harbinger" was once again recorded with Kevin Bernsten (TRIAC, Magrudergrind) at Developing Nations, while the album's mastering was completed by vocalist/bassist Ryan Jones (ex-Today Is The Day) alongside James Plotkin (SunnO))), Isis, Pelican). MUTILATION RITES will charge their way throughout the east coast and midwest this summer on a string of headlining tour dates surrounding their featured appearance at 2014's Gilead Fest in Oshkosh, Wisc. The tour will feature support from guitarist/vocalist George Paul's side project Hexer, which additionally features fellow MUTILATION RITES members Justin Ennis (drums) and guitarist Michael Dimmitt (guitar). MUTILATION RITES' Prosthetic debut "Empyrean," named by Decibel as one of 2012's Top 40 metal releases, was supported by tours and gigs alongside the likes of Skeletonwitch, Havok, Inter Arma, Cannibal Corpse, Alcest, Hull, Black Tusk, Thou, The Atlas Moth, Nachtmystium and more.
