ANIMALS AS LEADERS Preps For BTBAM Tour, Announces Off-Date With Scale The Summit

Animals As Leaders -- the progressive, instrumental project of guitar virtuoso Tosin Abasi (ex-Reflux, Born of Osiris) -- is currently preparing for its first tour, a three-week trek alongside Between The Buried And Me. During the tour, which kicks off Nov. 7 in Kettering, Ohio, Abasi will be backed by second guitarist Javier Reyes, Chebon Littlefield (laptop), and drummer Navene Koperweis (Animosity, The Faceless).

"Navene and I have actually been talking about working together for quite some time now," says Abasi, noting that Reflux and Animosity have previously toured together. "I'm stoked that it's finally going down! Anyone who has seen his work with Animosity or The Faceless or heard his solo project Fleshrot understands what he's capable of on both drums and guitar."

In addition to the BTBAM dates, Animals As Leaders will also play a one-off, all-ages show with labelmates (and fellow progressive instrumentalists) Scale The Summit at the Dallas House of Blues (Cambridge Room) on Nov. 17. Advance tickets are just $10 and go on sale this Saturday (Oct. 24). More information can be found here: http://www.houseofblues.com/tickets/eventdetail.php?eventid=60766

Hailed by MetalSucks as "intricate instru-metal of the highest caliber," Animals As Leaders' recently-released self-titled debut is a 12-track collection of guitar-driven progressive instrumentals with ambient and electronic influences, and a scintillating showcase for one of the finest young guitarists in rock today.
